Baileyisms

Bailey: Am I still four?

Me: Yes.

Bailey: When will I be five?

Me: On August 12th.

Bailey: Again?

And then we had a conversation about birthdays and that they occur every year. Some things are just so hard for little ones to grasp!

Oktoberfest

While in Dallas, Bailey and I went to the Bavarian Grill, a German restaurant in Plano, with my Mom, Dad, Kenny, and Meike. In celebration of Oktoberfest, they had a live German band - the same band that played at Kenny and Meike's wedding reception! We sat outside and enjoyed the music and wonderful food.

Celebrating Baby Loucks

This weekend Bailey and I made a quick trip to Dallas to attend a baby shower for my good friend and Baylor roommate Lindsay. She is having her first baby, a boy, in November. It was so fun to see her and the goodies she received for baby Tanner.

Isn't she beautiful?

Linz's mom made the bedding! Adorable!

MOMs!!!
My college roommates and I called each other MOM
(in an obnoxious voice) and now we are all really moms!

Just for fun - this was taken almost 18 months ago at my baby shower- I was HUGE!!!

Bye-Bye Passy!

Campbell recently said bye-bye to his passy. When he started back to school in August, I sent a passy with his stuff for nap time. When I picked him up the first day, the teachers said they had forgotten about the passy, but he went to sleep just fine without it. After several weeks of not having the passy AT ALL during the day, including nap time, I knew he could probably do it at home and night as well. We decided that we would try it after our trip to Oklahoma. My parents kept the kids at their house for a few days after we got back and my mom never gave him his passy. He hasn't had it since and hasn't even needed it! It's so great to be done with it at 16 months because Bailey was a little over three years old when we finally got rid of hers!!

Here are literally all the pictures that I have of Campbell with his passy. I guess I always pulled it out of his mouth before taking pictures! The first one was taken the day we brought Campbell home from the hospital. Bailey was so excited to give him all of his pacifiers at once!

I'm a big boy now!

Labor Day 2009

Forty two years ago two families spent a weekend in Oklahoma. One of those families was my dad's - my grandparents, my dad, and my aunt. The other family was the McMurtreys. Mr. McMurtrey worked with my grandfather, Mrs. McMurtrey and my grandmother were friends, and their three boys were about the same age as my dad and aunt. Since that weekend in 1967, these families have met at the Western Hills Guest Ranch in Wagoner, Oklahoma every year. What began as nine people has grown as the "kids" married, had their own children, and now have grandchildren. This year, there were 24 of us! I have fond memories of my trips to Oklahoma - many of them centered around my grandparents. It was surreal to return this year with my husband and children and watch as Bailey and Campbell made their own memories with their grandparents.

Bailey LOVED the horses!

Campbell did not. He thought it was safer to sit on Dad's shoulders!
