Lottie Moon

Every year our church has had a Christmas progressive dinner and gift exchange. The emphasis is on the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and you could drop off your donation at any or all of the locations during the progressive dinner. The highlight of the evening was the white elephant gift exchange where certain gifts (a clear plastic apron and cookbook titled "Cooking in the Nude" and a twenty year old wedding picture of one of our couples to name a few) would appear every year. Over the years, as our church has grown, this event has grown too. Last year we crammed more than sixty people in each of the homes to eat appetizers, dinner, and dessert. There were so many of us that the gift exchange wasn't over until after 11:00 PM. Needless to say, we needed a new plan that would accommodate everyone and not last all night. It was a good problem to have though!

Our solution was to have a catered meal at the church. Instead of a white elephant gift exchange, we came up with a fun game of (slightly embarrassing) dares. The participant had the choice to accept the dare or "buy" their way out with a donation to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. It was awesome! Everyone enjoyed it! Most people accepted the dares, but we still raised a lot of money for Lottie Moon!

Each table was decorated by a different lady...this was mine

Yes, those are panty hose on his head...with baseballs in them!

My dear husband...this was hilarious!!!

Eva + gum + flour = fun!

Mrs. Black...love her! She was such a good sport to do the Macarena!

Duane balanced six dice on that tongue depressor!

Mr. Tom ate baby food (and it wasn't fruit!)

Kaitlin trying to move an Oreo down her face into her mouth...and Darla trying to help!
